What is 2,650 miles in km? With an organised group, though, surely? How long will that take? How far is that per day?

The most common by far is whether I’ll write some sort of blog, post photos, keep in touch. My answer has always been yes, I’m going to do one of those things. In the future. Honest.

You see I’ve always liked the idea of keeping a blog about the trails and travels that have characterised life since leaving Australia. So it is a very easy question to answer with a yes. But in the past I’ve never really made it beyond the first entry or two. My poor family make do with a photo every few months, an email once a year or there abouts.

So, having determined to walk 4,250 km, alone (but for Sam of course) and unsupported, in a tent, doing 20 mile days for five months it seems only fair that I should quickly evolve into a better correspondent.
